Nice bags! What kind of flyscreen did you find for your R12? I had Dart's on other past bikes but not yet one available for the R12. Looks great! Thanks in advance!
Hello everyone! Spring is at the door and the snow is melting, so I decided to give it a try and install the H&B crash bars! Installation was really straight forward and loosing the big Torx55 bolts was much easier than anticipated, I was so stressed! also 100nm or so isn't as much as big deal...
I downsized from a 1250RT to the R12 because of my wife's health concerns and I'm really pleased with this bike, return to the "retro" simple ride! I love it!
Well I'm ok with you. Yes it is a very simple procedure, I have installed pigtails in past motorcycles for the same reason that you mention and it is much simpler just to plug the tender in a pigtail. But this particular dealer, even if you do not ask for the universal pigtail, they will...
Hello D.A. My dealer always install a universal tender pigtail from the battery on all the motorcycles they sell. I suppose in that way you can use any universal tender as Deltran's or other brands and do not have to buy a BMW specific if you already have one. Well, here in Québec, winters are...
I would suggest a pigtail from the battery and a Battery Tender by Deltran. I always been keeping the tender ON for all winter and riding season when in my garage, been doing that in all my motorcycles! never had a battery problem.
Welcome Mike!
Congratulations! I'm north of Montréal, today max was -13C and 2-3 ft of snow on the ground! Can't wait for spring to come! I have only 500 kms on this great bike... last fall...
Did you try to loose the bolt after a ride on a warm engine? It might help, aluminum expands more than steel. I just got the H&B crash but decided to install it next spring after a ride (winter storage here!)
Hope this help.
